Work Offline property mode in SSIS

Sometimes it happens that we need to open an SSIS package which contains a connection which is not accessible or not allowed to be accessible due to some security reason. Offline mode must be set the project level in the earlier version but the new version this option is also available at the individual connection level also.
This feature can be highly useful when it’s come to developers who are not authorized to access the underlying data source being used in the package but he needs to read some columns mapping information from source and destination being used in the package.
Whenever we are opening the SSIS package designer try to connect the data source being used by the package to verify the metadata, in this case, we cannot access to column mapping of the source or destination object.
When we are clicking on the column of the source are destination object, it throws an error as “the acquire connection method called to the connection manager failed with error code”.
So to overcome with this issue in SSIS package which has this kind of limitation, we can use the “work offline’ option available in SSIS Menu in the menu bar The connection managers for which we set the “work offline” property to true, package will not try to validate its metadata.
We can set the work offline property. Right click on the package and select Work offline

Or go to the SSIS menu and select Work offline as below.

  1. I looked at the connection and I see no Offline Mode property. In what way is it available at the Connection Level? I am using Visual Studio 2019 and Microsoft SQL Server 2019.
